GLBT Tourism
Salvador, Porto Seguro, Ilhéus and Itacaré are among the main GLBT
destinations. Considered gay-friendly they stand out for the democratic
environment, respect for diversity, busy night life, lots of art,
culture and privacy.
In the last two years, Bahia's official tourism organs, have developed several actions to promote the GLBT tourism in the state, promoting qualification courses for hotel receptionists, the military police and taxi drivers to prepare them to host gays and lesbians in a natural and respectful way.
The objective is to extend the program to all touristic cities so that the entire state of Bahia can be recognized as a gay-friendly destination.
