Our People
Bahia’s people are the fruit of the miscegenation of the native indigenous people, the European and the African. We are a people of singular characteristics that are expressed in our culture and religiosity. Bahia’s people are, by nature and excellence, hospitable, welcoming and merrymaking.

The miscegenation process started at the discovery time, when the Portuguese that settled here with the native indigenous women formed their families. The cycle continued with the arrival of African slaves from different ethnical groups.
